Blood Lust Review Spotlight

Happy release week and congrats to author A.B. Cynthe on the release of Blood Lust! The perfect thing to kick off Shark Week!

Love a good horror novel with a healthy dose of steamy? Then look no further than Blood Lust by AB. Cynthe.

Blood Lust is a dark paranormal style horror novel that will keep readers coming back for more. Whether you’re coming back for more of the story or the author...does it really matter? LOL! Because at the end of the day, you’re going to be a fan of author Cynthe if you already aren’t.

Blood Lust is a standalone erotic horror story that details the crossing of paths of two killers. Delilah is a dangerous little flower looking to see who she can lure in. Author Cynthe presents her as an innocent young woman looking to have some fun on the beach. But Delilah has a particular agenda in mind, and it won’t be long before she puts it into play.

Of course, Delilah isn’t the only dangerous creature afoot in this story. We’re getting ourselves a delicious “shark daddy.” Handsome, hung, and vicious he’s a threat to any who dare come near what he claims as his. Regardless of the fact that he doesn’t get as much attention and focus as Delilah he brings a nice amount of drama to the story.

Blood Lust alternates POV between Delilah and Reef, but focuses mostly on Delilah since she’s the one who dwells on land. Compared to Reef, she probably also has the higher body count, too. Honestly, her chapters bring a nice amount of drama and tension to the story since most of it does take place on land. The human engagement pushes the story forward as we get shark attacks, and murders. It’s a nice combination since you never know which is going to happen next.

Blood Lust is a deliciously dark story. It’s a real page-turner that will keep you coming back for more and leave you with a little wicked smile at the end. In it’s own way, Blood Lust get a bloody little HEA.

When you meet Tink in this book she's playing the "shy damsel." What she's really up to? Well, she's planning a theft. Thieves stealing from thieves. Who is the mark? Why the "infamous" Captain James Hook. Yes! The Captain Hook himself. Why him? Did he do something wrong to Tink? Nope, he just has something she desperately wants.

Cue some heat coming your way and so early in the story, too! Watch out for Smee because this is NOT your childhood Peter Pan story right here. LOL! While Tink may get her momentary goal, she's still got a long way ahead of her. But don't worry, Tink's and James's paths will cross again, and things are going to be absolutely delightful.

Second Star to the Left is an engaging fantasy novel that gives readers a fresh new twist on Tinker Bell and Captain Hook. They aren't the only ones though! My jaw may have been on the floor with this author's twist on Smee. Heellloooo sir! LOL!

Prepare for a few steamy situations in this book! They are perfectly delicious and we had ZERO issues with them let me just tell y'all that right now. LOL! The back and forth between Tink and James is everything. They're drawn to each other, but they are also wary of each other. There are going to be some moments where you think that someone is working to tear them apart, but can they work through it all?

Second STar to the Left is a standalone novel so you can expect everything to be wrapped up nicely by the end of this story. At the halfway point, things are going to really kick up a notch so hang on to your butts and be prepared to be swept away!

This book was so much fun to read, you're not going to want to miss out on what this author puts out next.

Steel and Stone Review Spotlight

Steel and Stone is the second book in Silvana G. Sanchez's Cursed Kingdoms series. This book can be read as a standalone novel as it focuses mainly on the two characters - Philip and Aurora.

Steel and Stone is a good book choice for readers who enjoy fairytale retellings. The author looks to engage readers from the beginning of this book by giving them a taste of what is going on in Aurora's kingdom. Remember, this is a retelling, which means that there will be familiar elements while the author weaves in her own twists and creates her own version.

Aurora has made the hard decision to contact the lord of the Underworld. Does she get who she's calling for? Well, let's just say that things go left and she gets tricked. Now Philip, who arrived at the last minute, is left heartbroken and has to take on the role of "regent" for her people. But things devolve from there. A coup is in works. Another seeks the power of the throne that they feel is theirs. This will bring death and devastation to the people.

Now, Philip must make a choice. Continue to stand with Aurora's kingdom despite his heartbreak? Or let them fall to the ones who are eyeing it like a prize?

This story alternates between Philip and Aurora. So you get a dual POV with alternating chapters. Even with Aurora being "not aware" of her surroundings, you still get her perspective in the story. I have to admit that I liked that the author chose to do this. But don't worry, there isn't a repeat of Aurora being "dead to the world" constantly. The author is quick to shift the story forward so that the reader is kept engaged in what is going on.

Steel and Stone is an engaging story. When I first started reading this book I felt that the details were overdone. The story felt like it was being stifled by the amount of detail that the author chose to put in this book. I wanted less. The deeper I got into the book though the more I got used to the overflow of detail. In some areas, it adds to the story and helps to paint a more vivid picture. In other areas, I skimmed some of the details to keep to the meat of the story.

One particular aspect that I appreciated about this story is that Philip doesn't go alone. Also, I love that his captain isn't the norm. This character has some serious sass and attitude. I loved it. Of course, for a time it begged the question as to what their EXACT relationship was or has been. I mean, not everyone has the gall to stand up to their sovereign. LOL!

The deeper you get into the story the more engaged you're going to become as Aurora deals with being in the Underworld, and Philip takes steps to get back the woman that he loves. This book is an engaging page-turner. Mixing Sleeping Beauty with the story of Hades and Persephone, this book is sure to be one that readers enjoy.

Her Blind Deception by Hailey Jade is the continuation of Rhiandra's story. From the gutter to the castle, her journey from being "nothing" in the sight of many, to the power who holds the throne would be viewed by many as a "fairy-tale" come true. But the truth behind closed doors told a different story.

Rhiandra's story picks up where book one left off. The king? No more thanks to Draven's magic apple. The princess and heir to the throne? Gone. Rhiandra claims that the girl is deceased, but she knows the truth. The girl may be gone, but things went awry even there. But what choice did she have? It was either: off the girl or marry Draven to protect her. Well, Rhiandra isn't one to show any kind of weakness so she chose subtlety and deceit. Two things that she is very familiar with. But with Draven, she's going to have to stay on her toes, because he, like her, is truly unpredictable.

Her Blind Deception is going to engage you from the beginning. The kingdom is now struggling with instability and death. The people mourn the loss of their king, and now the heir apparent, and Rhiandra is off getting married. Absolutely scandalous! LOL! Well, you know that would be their reaction if they knew. Just imagine the chaos and uprising that would come at such a rushed affair of things!

The story progresses rather smoothly, but one thing that you are going to notice about this book is the alternating chapters. While book one was solely focused on Rhiandra, this book deviates and gives readers so much more. You get chapters with the characters you have become familiar with and then some new ones.

Each of these new perspectives bring something new and fresh to the story. They are each amping up the drama and do a fantastic job keeping the reader engaged. One of my favorite characters that gets introduced is Elias. You'll understand why when you read, but I will give you a small hint...He's different! Like...different different! LOL! I don't want to say any spoilers, but trust me, it's a great surprise! LOL!

I hope you're ready for a ton of chaos, because book one set the stage, and book two? Book two is bringing the fire and the heat! The first half once again sets things up, but the second half? Hold on tight because things are about to get wild. The ending is going to have you on the edge of your seat and eager for book three, because this is far from over!

Hunt the Wood is a fantastic start to a new series by Anna Fury and Amy Pennza. Are you a fan of fairy tale retellings? Then this book and series will be one that you don't want to miss out on. Hunt the Wood is a retelling of the classic Red Riding Hood story but with a healthy twist that makes it fresh, new, and absolutely delicious.

Ryder is a witch with limited magic, but he has the ability to see glimpses of people's futures. Sometimes good sometimes bad, but who is he to try to tell people what they really need to know? He's predictions aren't set in stone, but he's rarely wrong. His grandmother hasn't been a major part of his life, but when she summons him...he knows he must heed that call. The problem? He needs permission to cross into the Woods.

The world is different now, and humans are no longer in charge. Paranormal monsters now are the ones in charge. The world has changed, and been divided up into territories. You either live under them or you stay in the safe zones. Our little "Red Riding Hood" is about to find himself playing with the "big bad wolf"...the Master of the Hunt.

Hunt the Wood is a delicious story that will keep you page-turning to the end. I love reading about Ryder's escapades. You get nice tidbits of backstory into Ryder's past, and you get glimpses of his skills as a witch as well. Then there is Wotan, the "big bad wolf." He brings the dark and delicious to this story in SPADES! He's dangerous, and he will eat Ryder alive if given the chance.

This book has some delicious steamy moments that will leave you fanning yourself. LOL! The twists, the turns, the drama, the sexual tension at times between the characters, it's all well done. You won't be able to put this book down once you start reading it.

This book is a standalone novel with a delightful HEA, AND a teaser of the next book to come in this series! These authors have struck gold with how well they work together in their writing. You won't be able to tell where one writer begins and the other ends with their contributions.

I'm rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait to read their next book in this series! I'm sure it's going to be just as delicious as this one.
