The Godhead Complex is the continuation of James Dashner's epic series The Maze Cutter series which continues the story that started it all with The Maze Runner. If you're not reading this series, and you've read the other you are seriously missing out.

The Godhead Complex picks up where book one left off. Secrets are being revealed and the prologue alone is going to have your jaw on the floor. You get a taste of Alexandria's origin, and it blew this reader's mind. Granted, we had always wondered where that particular came from, but now we get an idea and it is going to light a fire in you to dig into this story.

Of course, that's just in the prologue. Quickly things shift back to the group and the dilemma ahead of them. Where will they go? What will they choose to do? They've been through so much. Dealt with mad scientists. Some have been kidnapped. Others? Murdered, and their bodies will never again see home. Now, the choice must be made - move forward? Or risk the journey to try and get back to the island and hope that all will be forgiven? I'm sure you can guess what they choose.

Not everyone is happy about the choice, but...Alaska here we come! What awaits them there though is not something to be trifled with. Alexandria is there, and while she may have some answers to the questions that lurk in the group, will she be the one to help them? Or will she be a part of what is waiting to destroy them?

The friendships will see some struggles as this story continues to move forward. The back and forth and even some resentment building is to be expected. Because as you'll see not everyone is on board with heading to Alaska. It's like heading into the lion's den because you just don't know what to expect. But that just seriously amps up the tension and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Is everything going to be high tension and drama? No. You'll get to relax your spine and chill out for a minute a few times in this book. LOL!

This author stays true to his writing style and commands attention with the characters and a few introductions of some new ones to keep things fresh and engaging. But brace yourself for when the group splits up. It's going to begin a slow burn of tension as each group begins a different path. Where will it lead them becomes the repeating question. Will things ever be the same once they each reach their destinations? Who will be lost this time? What secrets will be uncovered?

Be prepared for this book to leave you with quite a few questions in the end. Of course, there is no true end, it's just a temporary pause while we wait for book three. LOL! It will be interesting in direction the author takes the characters and how things will continue to play out. Typically the truth either brings a new light and direction, or it will send you into a spiral. We'll have to see where the characters go from here.
