The Cursed Soul is the first book in K.C. Smith's Waves of Sorcery series. Love a good book that features pirates, magic, curses, and a nice amount of drama? Then you're not going to want to miss out on this book and series. It's a serious page-turner.

The first thing that you're going to notice about this book is the GOOOOOR-GEOUS cover! Hats off to the cover designer! They did a FAN-tastic job! This cover is beyond eye-catching and really piques the reader's interest in checking this book out. Wait until you get this beauty on your device. The way it fills up the page and shows off all it's details...just wow!

Don't get too hung up on the cover though! The book is packed with tasty things to discover! The characters you meet: Doraan, a pirate, has been cursed. All he wants is to have the curse broken so that he can go back home. Why was he cursed? Well, that takes a little while to get to the meat of that particular mystery. But you do get there!! Just be prepared to settle in for a bit before you get that particular answer.

Kamira makes an appearance pretty quickly in this story. She's on the run, but from what? She wants a better future for herself and safety. Safety from what you ask? Well, that's simple. She's a sorcerer, and they are being hunted to "extinction." The "king" wants them all dead. He's spun lies about them, or maybe they're half-truths (?) because he desires power and control. So they were nearly wiped out years ago. Of course, this ties back to Doraan. How you ask? Well, you're going to have to read to find out!

Kamira decides that her best bet to escape and hide is to pretend to be a boy aboard the Cursed Soul. Yes, the title ties into the book almost immediately! Love it! Do the crew members buy it? Weelllllll....you seeeeee....the thing is.....yeah. LOL! You see where this is going. LOL! They're a good crew. Doraan...well, apparently he turns a blind eye (not literally) to things? Okay, we'll just say the rest of the crew is just more observant than him and leave it at that. LOL!

Are you hoping for some romance? Well, there isn't any. Sorry. Them's the facts. Does that mean that there will never be any later on in the series? Only the author knows the answer to that particular question. Is the book just fine without it? Absolutely! It's a real page-turner, and you're going to love reading the growth of the characters as it goes along.

Love cliffhangers? Then you're going to devour this book. Hate cliffhangers? Well...you're just going to have to get over that. LOL! I say that because this book is just too good to pass up!!! By the end you're going to be following the author to find out when book two will be available. We have to know what happens next!!! Yes, the ending is going to have your jaw on the floor.
