Starlite Review Spotlight

Welcome to the book tour for Starlite! Read on for more about this book and my review! Hope you enjoy!

Starlite is the first book that I have read by Jonathan Latt and I have to say that I really enjoyed this fun science fiction deep space novel. Prepare to be thrown into deep space when Bevil simply enters another's space craft and gets thrown into a situation that he was by no means prepared for.

Bevil is just your average guy looking to make it in deep space - without having to get married. LOL! The Jamboree is coming, and his mother is looking to marry him off. Yeah, I know. That's typically not something we see, so it's really refreshing. Bevil, as you can imagine, is not in the state of mind to settle down. So, he's hoping to dodge that particular "bullet." Well, with a twist of fate...he just might miss out.

When money is tight, what's a guy to do? Well, asteroid belts have plenty of minerals that can be mined, you just gotta be careful. So, when Bevil sees an opportunity while doing some mining...he decides...why not? The minute the situation shifts you just KNOW that things are going to go left for him. The question simply becomes... how long before he finds himself in deep trouble? LOL! Well, it takes a little longer than you'd expect, but it unfolds how the author promises that it will. How you ask? Well, with a ship trying to kill him. Adventure ahead ladies and gentlemen! Full speed ahead, too whether he likes it or not! LOL!

Starlite is a science fiction novel that has humor sprinkled in at various places to keep the story light and with some fun while Bevil works on staying alive. Coming across Starlite takes a minute, but the development is good. You're going to appreciate how the author places explanations in the right places. A perfect example is when Bevil finds himself in deep trouble. He's going to name the trouble ahead and the question is going to pop in your head immediately - what is that? Well, just hang on because the author is going to explain it to you.

This is a major plus for the novel because you get answers but it doesn't feel like you're being lectured. The author is giving explanations that blend in perfectly with the novel and keep you engaged to find out what happens next.

Bevil is an interesting character. He wants to get ahead, and stay alive, (I mean - who wouldn't), but he finds himself in predicaments that could easily go wrong. You can't help but shake your head, and smile. Meeting new characters (other than the one who tries to kill him) takes a bit, but it's worth the wait. This story is like a fun puzzle that comes together little by little. So, definitely worth checking out.

Lots of fun, danger, and some shenanigans along the way so if you're looking for a fun novel then this one is one you're not going to want to miss out on.

4.5 out of 5 stars

Thank you to the author, Jonathan Latt, and Escapist Book Tours for the opportunity to read and review this book. I look forward to what comes next!

Book Blurb:

Bevil Cyrex, adrift in space on a ship determined to kill him, stumbles across an ancient and abandoned

space station called The Starlite.

Once on board the station he sets about repairing it, with the goal of opening up for business.

Along the way he befriends a possibly sociopathic, all powerful nanite swarm, who has decided to take on the appearance and mannerisms of his grandmother.

He must also contend with being hunted by an ex-mob enforcer looking for revenge, a handful of pirates and various threats of invasion, marriage and death.

All in all, Bevil would have to admit, things were really looking up.
