Stars Ascending is the first book in Heather Smith's Stars Ascending series and you are NOT going to want to miss out on this gripping story.

This book's gorgeous cover is sure to grab your attention, but it's what lies between the covers that will hold you trapped in it's grip till the last page to find out what happens next.

Stars Ascending starts out innocently enough. Carolynn and her best friend, Beth, are heading out to a local club to have a good time and party. Carolynn is already feeling insecure because of how she's dressed, but Beth insists that they'll be having a great time! So, she relents. What comes next is going to be completely unexpected.

Cue the entrance of Donnie. Who is Donnie? Well, for now, he's a mystery guy who was lurking in the shadows of the club. She knows nothing about this guy, but she knows that the heat between them while they danced...undeniable. While it goes no further, it does stick in her mind long after she's left.

Of course, the author is quick to let readers know that Carolynn is special. She can read minds and her best friend, Beth, knows all about it. So, that means one thing - Carolynn probably let it slip. LOL! It's fine though, but it adds a new angle to the story. It means that those around her are comfortable with who and what she is. What is she exactly? Well, that's a mystery shrouded in shadows until you get deeper into the story, but it's tied to the nightmares that begin plaguing her once again.

This book has a mildly slow start, but just look at it as the author setting the stage. Preparing the foundation a piece at a time so that readers can get some background on Carolynn and her history. It's a touch sad when you learn that she was abandoned at birth, but she's not alone. She has a massive black she-wolf and let me tell you...I'm living for it!

There is so much to uncover with this story and once it gains traction, things are off to the races! You will be devouring this book. Since this is part of a series, there will be a bit of a cliffhanger. Will be a crazy insane one that has you throwing the book at the wall? No. So take a deep breath. LOL! That's the upside. It will leave you with your interest piqued because of the unexpected angle it leaves off on.

Love a good fantasy novel with tons of twists? Then be sure to add this one to your list (ya know, since it's not out just quite yet). You won't be disappointed.

About the Author

Heather Smith has been crafting stories for as long as she could remember. It wasn’t until she was fifteen that she wrote her first novel that she had no intentions of publishing. Let’s just say it was a knock off of Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer….and yes she threw it away. (cringe) At nineteen she wrote her first completed manuscript that is still a work in progress, but will soon turn into a four-book series. Since then, she’s worked on countless other projects and is constantly writing down new plot ideas. Yes, her minds a mess.

When she isn’t writing about fantastical worlds, she resides in Hudson, Florida. She is a mother of four; Carolynn, Aiden, Evelynn, and Cameron. She enjoys curling up on the couch with her favorite author Cassandra Clare, drinking hot tea, playing in the pool with her kids, and dreaming of new worlds to explore. She has a small obsession with all things Disney. Tattoos, she can’t seem to get enough of, as well as her pets. She currently has two Bengal cats, Stormy and Skye, and two puppy dogs, the Great Dane Luna and a Chocolate Labrador Rose. But, most importantly, she is addicted to Barqs Root Beer.
