Congratulations
to J.L. Vampa on the release of the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED second novel
in The Sisters Solstice series, Winter
of the Wicked! Read on for more and get yourself a copy
of this beauty!
Winter of the Wicked is the second book in J.L. Vampa's Sisters Solstice series. If you haven't read book one before picking up this novel, you're going to want to go and grab that one before you dive into this novel.
Winter of the Wicked is going to draw you in from the prologue and keep you engaged to the very end of this novel. Four witches, sisters, are intent on bringing about change. But at what cost? Are they willing to do whatever it takes? Or will something stand in the way to give them pause?
Winter of the Wicked is engaging, and the characters draw you into this novel and keep you coming back for more. The dynamics between them are at times humorous, but at other times quite volatile. The author brings this particular fact to life in the "mixing" of their magics. When emotions are high things get...a bit dicey so to speak. In one particular scene, you're warned that they could bring down an avalanche on the house and bury them all beneath the snow. Makes your eyes widen in surprise just imagining it.
The dynamic differences between the sisters is really interesting. They are as unique and different as the seasons that they represent. I love it. But don't let that fool you, they can easily become something darker or lighter as necessary. It's absolutely enjoyable to read their interaction with each other and the variety of characters that they find themselves with.
The storyline shifts from character to character, but the author never throws you into the deep end expecting you to figure out who the story has transitioned to. When the story transitions from Winnie to Agatha or any of the others the author makes a point of letting you know this. The shifting from one character to the other also keeps you engaged and wondering what is happening next with the others while you are otherwise occupied. LOL!
This story is packed with drama, and though the pace is slow at times, it flows beautifully. The author does an amazing job giving readers details in the right places. You get the right amount of detail to paint vivid pictures in your mind of the scenes and situations described in this novel.
The characters are engaging and keep you coming back for more. There are scenes that will have you cringing with worry for them as they must endure certain moments, but you cross your fingers and hope for the best. Of course, as is true in most stories, not everything works out the way that you want it to, or that the characters hope for, but it just adds an element of realism that leaves you eager for the next book to come.
Read the first book in this series and enjoyed it? Then don't hesitate to go out and grab this one to add to your collection and dive in! New to this author and curious about the series? Well, keep reading! There is more info below about book one and be sure to go and grab a copy as well! You won't be disappointed!
I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars!
Thank you to the author, J.L. Vampa, and R&R Book Tours for the opportunity to read and review this book! I look forward to more from this author in the future and what comes next!
