Bee Movie Spotlight Review

Welcome to the book tour for cozy mystery, Bee Movie by Wendy W. Webb. Read on for more!

Bee Movie by Wendy W. Webb is the first book in her Beluga Stein mystery series, and if you enjoy cozy mystery novels then you are not going to want to miss out on this book.

Prepare to meet Beluga Stein, she's been called in to investigate some strange happenings at a low budge horror movie set. Her cat, Planchette, is there to investigate with her, but the question is - what will they find? Beluga seems to be taking things pretty lightly, but don't worry, she's on the case. She'll be sure to find out what is happening and who is behind the mysterious murder of the "leading bee."

This book was a lot of fun to read. Beluga with her pastel-colored cigarettes, to Planchette. I really think that on more than one occasion he tried to steal the show. LOL! This book has a quick pace that will keep you page-turning to find out what happens next. There is a myriad of different characters that seem to not like each other, so the question becomes - whose not guilty of something?

There are some paranormal-style happenings that pop up here and there in this book. Would I have liked a bit more? Yes. I absolutely would have, but as it is this book does pretty well with what it has. I will admit though that the author keeps me on my toes as to the culprit. I start leaning towards a certain character, but am I correct in my choosing? Well, you'll just have to read this book to find out!

This book easily merits a 4.5 out of 5 stars rating. I'm looking forward to more of Beluga and Planchette in the future.

Thank you to the author and R&R Tours for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Bee Movie (The Beluga Stein Mysteries Book 1)

Publication Date: March 30th, 2022

Genre: Cozy Mystery/ Suspense/ Paranormal

Publisher: The Wild Rose Press

Beluga Stein is here, with her signature loud muumuus, pastel cigarettes, and hit-or-miss psychic ability. She and her feline familiar, Planchette, are ready for their closeups. Or are they?

Beluga is called to investigate paranormal activity and other strange events on the set of a low budget horror movie. But after a mysterious fire, an actor dressed in a bee costume is found hoisted high in the air by a crane. Is the set haunted? Or are the supernatural stirrings and death the result of special effects?

From the dark screening room to the madcap SFX warehouse and scary set itself, Beluga and Planchette are there as reluctant cast members. But even a bit part in this film could be murder.

Production Manager's Notes

Shooting on set of Bee Mine delayed yet another day due to unforeseen circumstances of boom falling on antenna of actor playing part of giant bee. Actor sustained minor injury (covered by insurance), antenna sent to SFX department for surgical repair (not covered by insurance), boom operator yet to be found after his exit from soundstage, screaming, "It's a ghost. It's a ghost."

Budget overrun in Craft Services department. Snack Head places blame on Beluga Stein.
